Aussie retailer King Living opens first North American showroom

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Australian furniture retailer King Living, known for developing smart furniture, has opened its first North American showroom in Vancouver.

The 10,000-square-foot location is the fifth international showroom for the company, joining others in Malaysia, Shanghai, Singapore and New Zealand. The company currently has 16 locations in its native Australia.

“Canadians appreciate good design, quality and long-lasting products,” said David King, King Living founder. “Given the overwhelming response, we are very excited about the future prospects of the brand’s expansion into North America.”

The company designs custom furniture, so its stores act as showrooms where customers can view products and order them to be delivered, choosing from items such as steel-framed modular sofas, storage beds, dining room sets, outdoor furniture, home office, ottomans and mattresses.

King said many of the pieces are designed with modern life in mind, such as sofas with side tables that allow for wireless charging and LED lamps and recliners that automatically position to pre-selected settings with the swipe of a hand.

Prices range from C$5,198 for a three-seater sofa to C$12,935 for a technologically-enabled sectional.
